Phoenix Contact is offering this training as course provider for the TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program. Once they have passed the final exam, participants receive the recognized Functional Safety Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate and are listed by name as FS Technician (TÜV Rheinland) for Machinery – CE Practice on the TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH website (www.tuvasi.com). The certificate is an internationally recognized proof of qualification within the industry which vouches for the practical implementation of the knowledge required to implement the requirements concerning machine safety.

Content of this training:

The training course contents consist of the following topics:

  • Introduction to the Machinery Directive

  • Procedures for assessing conformity

  • Application of EN ISO 13849-1

  • Implementation of the specifications with support from SISTEMA

  • Safeguarding

  • Process monitoring

  • Practical implementation of technical measures for functional safety in the safety lifecycle for machinery:

    • Phase 0: risk assessment of the machine
    • Phase 1: safety planning
    • Phase 2: specification
    • Phase 3: validation planning
    • Phase 4: implementation
    • Phase 5: verification
    • Phase 6: code simulation
    • Phase 7: validation
  • Summary and examination

Time schedule:

    • Day 1 till 4     09.00 – 16.00 h.   Training course
    • Day 5               09.00 – 14.00 h.   Final exam + lunch

Please be aware that additional study time could be required in the evening during this week due to the exam which will be taken the last day of the training week.

To participate in the training:

Basic knowledge of the Machinery Directive and of EN ISO 13849-1 (verified by the employer or seminar certificate) To take the exam: technical qualification and two years of work experience in the field of machine building or electrical equipment of machinery.

FS Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate

This course is being provided in cooperation with Phoenix Contact GmbH who is an accepted course provider of the TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program and will be led by a Functional Safety Trainer (TÜV Rheinland).

The written examination will take place in the morning on the fifth (5th) day of the training.

Participants who attend the training course and exam and pass the exam will receive a “letter of confirmation” from TÜV Rheinland indicating that they have passed the exam.

The FS Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate is valid for 5 years.
